Olive Chamblin Brown was born in Richmond, Virginia. The daughter of the Late Elder Randolph and Bishop Annie Chamblin, she attended the Richmond City Public Schools and Van Dy Vyver Catholic School. An advocate of higher education, she attained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology/Social Work and a Master of Divinity Degree both from Virginia Union University, and, last, an Honorary Doctor of Theology Degree from Trinity Bible College in Richmond, Virginia.
In 1993, Olive C. Brown was consecrated to the Office of Bishop and founded the International Christian Ministries, Inc. (ICM). Following, she was elevated to Chief Apostle. Under ICM, Chief Apostle Brown has established churches in and throughout Virginia and North Carolina, and as far north as Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As Presiding Prelate of the International Christian Ministries, Inc., Chief Apostle Olive C. Brown has led this fast-growing body of Kingdom People to the purchase of nearly 40 acres of land in Chesterfield County, Virginia.
Married to the Late Bishop James F. Brown, Jr. for 27 years, five children were born to this union, all actively involved in ministry. Celebrating 60 years in ministry, Dr. Olive C. Brown, a Kingdom and Community Builder, has published eight books and other types of publications. Additionally, she has had a deep concern over the years for and worked with agencies regarding the provision of services to families (to name a few): Virginia Commonwealth University, Medical College of Virginia, and the American Red Cross in delivery of services to military families and disaster victims. Dr. Brown has founded and served as CEO of Metro-Richmond Community Development Corporation, as well as worked with the University of North Carolina as a Pediatric Social Worker, and managed a Christian Sociology and Counseling Center. Also, she has networked with the local awareness of human trafficking team; the Yeshua’s House Domestic Violence Shelter; the Richmond Public Schools system in spearheading a School Supplies/Clothing Drive for George Wythe High School youth; and the Petersburg Public Schools system in sponsoring a Christmas Toy Drive for Petersburg City youth. Dr. Olive C. Brown has been blessed to accomplish much, and seeing lives changed and helped brings the greatest joy to her life.
